Add a heap of inspiration, a spoonful of creativity, oodles of patience, a pinch of hope and a sprinkling of love, bind it all together and stand back and admire.

Sing like no one's listening

Well looks like my good intentions to post maybe once a week went out of the window lol. Anyway I made this a while ago now and just haven't gotten round to uploading it to my blog. I've totally fallen in love with Lotv stamps. How cute are these little beauties, they have so much detail and I can't wait for the new releases on 12th November. I loved making this card but I find red copics are hard to work with and I can see where its bled onto the hymn sheet (sigh). I've tried to blend it but it ain't happening and it was just spreading. So don't look too closely and if you do remember I'm still learning. (My excuse and I'm sticking to it). Hope the weather in your corner of the world is better than here Northern England, the wind is really strong and lots of rain and hailstones to boot. I think wer'e in for a bad winter which reminds me I must buy some trendy wellies this year.

Butterfly flutterby

Brrrrrr - Well it looks like its official , winter is finally here its so so cold today. Can't help wondering where Autumn went but there you go. I know its been a while too since I last posted and once again sorry, I do pop on sometimes to comment but not to post. Anyway I made this card for a friend of mine who loves butterflys, its her birthday today and I hope it cheered her. I'm also going to enter it into the Flutterby Wednesday Challenge which I've only just found tonight - see you do learn something new every day. I decided to keep it clean and simple and not put too many embellies on. I did have to put some self adhesive flat backed pearls on around the outer edges of the pink spotty circle as I'm so addicted to these little beauties but theyr'e not showing up too well.

Tra la la la la

I can't believe that I'm posting a card again so quickly. I'm either ill or getting better at being a good blogger. How cute is this little image. I found him on a colouring page site and I'm sorry but I can't tell you where because for some silly reason known only to myself I haven't saved where I found him. The background paper was made by me with lots and lots and lots of help and tuition ( and a few cross words) from my very kind and very very patient hubby. I downloaded the music score and then added the words - apologies to all you people who can read music out there because it probably doesn't make sense but I was pleased with the finished product. I've coloured him with copics and think I might just be getting the hang of these, I quite like the way I've done his face (self praise - blush). Anyway off now, going to make something nice to eat.

Thursday 23 September 2010

Well I've got to say that I'm just not a very good blogger. I guess I'm okay at browsing / lurking on other peoples blogs but when it comes to maintaining mine well that just goes out of the window!!!. Anyhow I think I've come to terms with the fact that I might just post a card now and again, maybe 2 a month or even 1 a month and hope this is okay. I love the image that I've used on this card, I think she has to be one of my all time favourites alongside Daisy from Sugar Nellie. I've used copics to colour her using the demo from LOTV Its a fab fab tutorial and takes you through it step by step. I'm still trying to build my colouring skills so I'm quite chuffed with this as I think its turned out just dandy. I also got a chance to use my new MS punch for the border up the side and I added a few papermania gold flatback self adhesive gems for a bit of bling. I think I'm going to give this card to my niece for her birthday in November or then again I might just keep it seeing as I love the image so much lol. Anyway going for tea now. hope you all have a brilliant crafty night.

Flowers for You

I can't believe its been that long since I posted, shame on me for being a bad blogger. To be honest I don't know why I haven't posted either. I've been busy moving offices at work and had quite a lot going on but nothing dramatic so I can't even use that as an excuse. Anyway I'm here now and with a card so that kind of makes up for things. I hope your weekend has been very productive. Mine has. I've made this card for my mam's birthday and made the box for it to go in as it wouldn't fit into an envelope with the flowers on and I must admit I think I may make a few more boxed cards . The gold and red flocked paper was salvaged from christmas crackers, As soon as they had been pulled I was pinching the bits of paper, saying that my eagle eyed sister in law was hot on my trail and I think we both came out even lol. The vase is a Clarity stamp and has been raised onto foam pads to make it stand up so the roses could be slotted underneath. Not sure about the photo though I think its a little bit too light. Anyway off for a look aroung blog land now before the footie starts then I'll head to the kitchen with a glass of red wine and my craft stuff and see what I come up with. Take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

It really wasn't me - honest

I don't know what happened earlier when I tried typing this but for some strange reason I was typing in English but it was coming up in Hindi. Panic set in and I found a button and kept clicking (manically) on it and eventually everything turned back to English. Anyway on to my card, how cute is this little image? I found it one day while browsing/lurking and knew I would be able to use it one day. You can find the free link for it in my side bar or click here. I've been itching to use it and made this card for my friend at work who just loves cats. I love the colour combo of the navy blue and turquoise it just seems to work so well. Anyway thanks for looking and for any comments left. Hope you all have a good evening.

Tuesday 8 June 2010

I've just finished my Fathers Day card and decided to enter it into Challenge 95 - Extra Special The remit is for you to make a card for someone special or for a special occasion, and as I had just finished the card I decided that my Dad was someone special so here is my card. The image is a Just Jim image from Digistamp Boutique and has been coloured with copics. I wanted the chair to look like leather, not quite sure that I've got it looking that way but maybe next time, because they do say practice makes perfect! Anyway Ive used taupe coordinations card stock and a freebie download blue paper called Let it Snow. Sorry but I can't remember where I donwnoaded it from but if anyone recognises it will you let me know so I can give credit. I've added some rustic looking brads and a piece of garden twine that I came across in hubby's work box. The stars are die cuts and I've raised some of the smaller ones on foam pads to give a bit of height. I've used rub on sentiments but I don't really like using these very much. Seems to be so much effort for not much show if you know what I mean.

A Perfect Pair

Oh what a change in the weather. You never get 2 days the same in England!!!!
Brilliant sunshine and very hot yesterday, so was out and about with my mum and sister shopping after doing the bare minimum of housework again and cold and splashing down with rain today. So seeing as it was cold and horrible I got some of my craft stuff and plonked it in the conservatory, switched the heater on, grabbed a couple of coffees, a few biccies and made a few cards. I've made this one for my niece's 1st wedding anniversary plus I'm going to enter it into the Create4fun Challenge. I've never entered a challenge before so this is my first time ever and I hope I've got the remit right. The challenge this week is to use black, white and one colour of your choice. So this is my entry. The image is a freebie from Little Paper Shop isn't this just gorgeous. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it and had to download it and for once made a note of where I downloaded it from. I've coloured it with with my chalks except for the leaves which I did with my copics- I don't trust myself to colour it fully with copics, so much easier to rub it out with chalks lol. Maybe when I've had more practice I'll do it with copics, still in the beginners stages with them. I bought a card stack of the green and white spotty card from Harrogate show in March and only wish I'd bought more. There was so many colours, pink, blue, lemon, green, lilac and all in spots, gingham, etc. I'm using it loads, I just love the freshness of it. Anyway I'm starting to waffle again and going off on a tanget!! I'll try and keep focused. Lime green card was from stash, peel off sentiment coloured black, Papermania mosaic gems (aren't they just fab) added to centre and some black flat backed self adhesive gems added to top and bottom. I've got to say I just love this card. Biased - yep I think so but I do love it. TFL.

I do I do I do

Isn't this weather just gorgeous. It really lifts your spirits when its as gorgeous as this. I love seeing people out and about and enjoying the warm sunny weather. Lunchtime today I went out onto the street to do some shopping and there was lots of people out and about. A street band was playing in the centre, people were sitting about listening, others chatting. The park beside the library had people lying on the grass reading, people playing swingball, people sitting. It just puts a different slant on life doesn't it. Anyway I waffle too much must be the weather lol. I made this card at the weekend for a lady who asked me to make her wedding invitations. I've used the same colours purple and silver. The only remit I got from her was for Cadbury purple and silver. Anyway I made 5 samples up and let her decide which one she wanted which turned out to be my favourite as well. So that worked in my favour. I don't want to post them yet until after her wedding in November. I loved making this card. Isn't this image too cute. I love Lily of the Valley stamps. I've kept the background white and used Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder. The image is coloured with copics and double matted. The flowers are 3D die cut but have been cut out of the paper if you know what I mean. The leaves are die cuts too. A little piece of lilac ribbon has been tied across the middle over the top of a Martha Stewart border. And of course some flat backed self adhesive gems added simply because I love them. A girl can never have too much bling now can she.

Dustin Pike - Thank you

Well I hope everyone has had a lovely creative day. I was going to. I was going to do so so so much today. I was full of good intentions, finish off 75 evening wedding invitations and make a box to put them in. Start a scrapbook page and maybe even make a card. Instead I did a little housework - the bare minimum might I add, just enough to get by and call it housework, then I went shopping with my mum. I wanted a floaty kind of dress to wear in the garden when it was hot. I tried on so many and got more disheartened with every one I tried on (8 in total) . Anyway I ended up with a rather gorgeous floaty skirt instead and a card magazine oh yes and a stencil too. When I did get home I finished this card off by cutting out some more flowers and arranging some on foam pads to lift them above the rest and then glossing them with Anita's gloss accents. How cute is this little image. He was a free digi download from here http://dustinpike.blogspot.com/ I love visiting this site. This is one talented talented individual and so generous too with all the freebie images. Anyway I hope I have a more creative day tomorrow or even Monday. I love Bank Holidays. No work. Take care and have a lovely weekend

Sisters

Evening everyone and another hot one at that (another night spent tossing and turning.) I tried pottering in the garden yesterday then gave it up as a bad job too too hot. Not that I'm complaining oh no. We don't get enough of this kind of weather. So got my crafty bits and pieces and sauntered off outside under the sun shade and this is what I came up with. How cute is this little digi image from Cuddly Buddly? As soon as I saw it I knew it would make a lovely card for my sisters birthday. I can't remember who makes the paper except that I got it from Hobbycraft and it was a scrummy shade of girly bubblegum pink. I'm quite pleased with the way this card turned out except for the hair. Not sure its right but its the best I could do until I get some more practice.

A perfect Day

I know this isn't a picture of a card but I had to share this photo. It just makes me smile all over when I see this pic of my nephew's little boy. This was taken at my niece's wedding last year and is my favourite photo of the day. How happy does he look? All dressed up and looking so posh but with ice cream all over his face, on his hands and down the front of his jacket. The ice cream was courtesy of my father much to the dismay of my mother!!

So Many Ways

Well now I think I just might be able to get my head around this blogg thingy. I've been playing around and changing things and adding things since I started and it all looks to be taking shape. I've got to say a BIG thank you to Angie for designing my banner and header and not only that but for adding it too. How kind is that. Thank you so so much once again Angie I love it. Anyway I've added another card using another freebie Newton Bear image from herehttp://www.newtons-law.com/colouring/ . How cute is he then. Must admit too my colouring doesn't look to bad. I hate doing bears or animals with fur. I love the green gingham paper/card its just so fresh looking. Only thing is I've got none left now. Got all the other colours but not the green - just goes to show how much I loved it huh!! Another pet hate is hair. I just can't get it right so if anyone can come up with some tutorials or point me in the direction of some It would be greatly received.

Newton

Well this is my very first posting so please be patient with me. I've resisted setting up a blog but finally gave in and decided to have a go. Saying that it's took me nearly all afternoon but there you go. I got there in the end. The card I've uploaded has been made using an image from this website http://www.newtons-law.com/colouring/ isn't he just so cute and very useable . I was kindly pointed to this by Kerry. Thanks for that. Anyway I've used watercolours and copics to colour with a touch of glossy accents added to the water droplets. The lovely gingham card I've used was bought from the Harrogate show and which I wish I'd bought more of because it is so so nice. I just wanted to keep this card simple so only added some ribbon and some flat back self adhesive mosaic stones. Another of my latest addictions.
